Google
Dominates the Search Engine World
Google officially opened their doors in September of 1998.
By June of 2000, Google officially became the world's largest
search engine, answering 18,000,000 search queries daily. Near
the end of June, Google signed a search results service contract
with Yahoo, Inc., virtually sealing their future as the world's
leader in search results. Currently, as of June 2003, google
processes over 200,000,000 search queries daily.
"Google's mission remains unchanged: to organize
the world's information and make it universally accessible
and useful." - quote from the google.com
website
Google gained the status as the world's best search engine by
understanding its own mission, and implementing it in a way that
was attractive to:
Understanding Google's formula for success is critical to planning,
designing and implementing websites from a search engine optimization
perspective. Clearly understanding how Google organizes data, makes
it accessible, and especially how it determines usefulness is the
key not only to solid search engine positioning in today's results,
but sealing a prominent position in the search engines of tomorrow,
whose sophistication will grow geometrically.
Our opinion based on studying the trends and emerging technology:
- Organic content ( content that is not found
elsewhere ) will become more important as linguistic experts develop
methods to evaluate and filter out duplicate information as a
part of search engine ranking algorithms
- Search engines will develop the ability to study web pages
and develop a value system based on complex language analysis
- PR ( popularity rating ) technology will become
increasingly sophisticated in the ability to filter out artificial
and non-relevant links
